Gaillardia aristata fresh seeds, Common blanket flower, Gaillardia seeds, Gaillardia bicolor, Firewheel, Flower seeds, Garden flower (lat. Gaillardia aristata).
A genus of plants in the Asteraceae family. Gaylardia spinosa is represented by perennial herbaceous plants up to 80 cm tall with straight, slightly curving, pubescent stems with short hairs, which bear two types of foliage.
Stem foliage - sessile, oval, oblong; basal - petiolate, whole-edged (less often toothed, which depends on the variety, of which there are a great many), densely pubescent over the entire surface. Inflorescences, like all representatives of the family of Compound flowers, are presented in the form of baskets. In gaillardia spinous, they are pubescent, reach 10-12 cm in diameter, consist of two types of flowers - tubular yellow-purple color and tongue orange, saturated yellow and red with copper admixture.
Flowering in summer, usually from June to late autumn. The species is relatively hardy, but in harsh and snowless winters it needs good shelter.
