Echinacea is an immunomodulator of natural origin that stimulates cellular immunity, increases the number of leukocytes, and increases their phagocytic activity. Thanks to this, the body can resist viruses, bacteria and other pathogens. The antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effect of echinacea is provided by phenolic compounds and tannins of the pyrocatechol group. Antiviral and immunostimulating properties are possible due to: ascorbic acid, glycoproteins; saponins; biometals (zinc, copper, manganese, iron). Echinacea is used to treat acute respiratory viral diseases, influenza, bronchitis, pyelonephritis. External use is possible for herpes, abscesses, wounds, burns.
