Paulownia Shan Tong is a hybrid between the species Paulownia tomentosa and Paulownia fortunei. When crossing, such qualities as cold resistance and growth rate were associated, characterized by straight growth of the stem and a narrow shape of the tree crown.

Tree up to 16-22m high. The trunk is straight, long, up to 35-50 cm in diameter. The crown is narrow, recommended planting pattern on wood: 4x4 m.

The leaves are green, single-lobed, large - up to 70 cm. Flowers are 5-6 cm, light lavender in color. The fruit is an ovoid capsule.

Prefers calcareous soils, their optimal growth is observed in the neutral pH range 6 - 7. Does not do well in too wet soil, does not like salty sea air.

Resistant to insects and diseases. Withstands temperatures from +42 ℃ to -28 ℃. USDA Hardiness Zone: 5 (-29°C to -23°C).

Used to create energy plantations, wood production or beekeeping.
