A perennial plant native to South Asia, in nature reaching a height of 15-32 m, the stems in the upper part are branched, highly lignified, with numerous nodes. Grows quickly. Bamboo is an evergreen plant, but loses some of its leaves every year. Blooms once in a lifetime at the age of 31-54 years. After flowering it dies. In indoor conditions it can grow up to 2-3 m in height.

Bamboo is unpretentious in terms of soil. Prefers sun or partial shade and does not tolerate wind, so plant the plant in an area protected from the wind. Bamboo grows easily and looks great in pots.
