Deciduous tree 12-18 meters high, with a spreading crown.
Leaves are twice or thrice pinnate, 25-80 cm long, consisting of 3-13 leaflets. Flowers are about 2 cm in diameter, lilac, with a strong honey smell, in loose panicles of 10.
Fruits are fleshy yellow drupes, about 1.5 cm in diameter, with a 5-celled endocarp, remaining on the trees until spring of the following year. Blooms in June.
Used as a beautiful park and alley tree.
Prefers a sunny place with well-drained soil. It is necessary to feed with flower fertilizers during the growth period.
