Paulownia tomentosa fresh seeds, Princess tree, Empress tree, Foxglove tree, Royal empress tree, Chinese princess ornamental tree (lat. Paulownia tomentosa).
Tree 15-20 m high, sometimes up to 25 m, and 0.6 m in diameter, sometimes up to 1 m. The crown is spreading, round or ovoid.
The leaves are large, up to 20-30 cm long, and in those that grow strongly, even up to 50 cm, pubescent above, tomentose below, broadly ovate or heart-shaped, pointed apex, smooth edge, rarely weakly 3-lobed, bloom late and fall late.
Inflorescences are paniculate, up to 30 cm long. The flowers are fragrant, pale purple, up to 6 cm in diameter. In late summer, buds are laid, overwinter and bloom in the spring, before or during the unfolding of leaves.
The fruit is a broadly ovoid capsule, one fruit contains from 1200 to 2300 seeds, lionfish seeds.
Valuable gardening tree, heat-loving and light-loving species. It is especially spectacular in the spring, when it blooms at the beginning of the leaves blooming, wearing a large number of large bluish-violet inflorescences and large foliage, and is extremely beautiful in fruit.
