Plants form two-headed, similar to hoof prints, or multi-headed groups. When viewed from above, a pair of leaves is broadly oval, flat in profile, tightly compressed. The 'face' is uneven due to small pyramidal pimples.

The windows are usually barely visible, always with a small number of 'flooded' red streaks. The edges are wide, smooth, the pattern is jagged along the edge.

The flowers are white, often with a pink tinge, appear in late autumn.
