Description: An early, high-yielding variety from Turkey. The bush grows tall, reaching up to 1 m.
The fruits are long, thin, curved, and orange. The walls are thin. The flavor is sweet.
Uses: For pickling, frying, and eating fresh.
Growing Conditions: Requires staking.
Growing from Seed: Before planting, the seeds must be treated: soaked in water at 50ºC for 5-6 hours to swell. Then, wrapped in a damp cloth, leave for 2-3 days at a temperature of about 20ºC until the seeds sprout. Only then should they be placed in soil. The seeds must be watered, and then covered with plastic or glass and placed in a warm place. As soon as the first shoots appear, increase the room temperature to 26-28ºC (79-80ºF) during the day, while at night, the seedlings need a cool temperature of 10-15ºC (50-59ºF).
Monitor the soil moisture in the seedling containers—it should be moderate. Water the seedlings with settled, warm water. When the first pair of leaves appears, transplant them.
Fertilize the soil: two weeks after transplanting, or when the seedlings develop their first pair of leaves, and then two weeks later, or when the second pair of leaves develops.
Shortly before planting the seedlings outdoors, acclimate them to the environment they will be in: take the seedlings outside daily for short periods, gradually increasing the time, and ensure the temperature does not drop below 13ºC (55ºF). The grown, strengthened and hardened seedlings at the stage of forming the first buds are planted in open ground when the air temperature reaches 15-17 ºС.
