Irga alder (Amelanchier alnifolia).

Deciduous shrub or small tree reaching 1-8 m in height.

The leaves are ovate or almost round, 2-5 cm long, 1-4.5 cm wide. Leaf petioles are 0.5-2 cm long.

The flowers are white, about 2-3 cm in diameter, collected in clusters of 3-20, appearing in early spring.

The fruit is a small purple apple, 5-15 mm in diameter, ripens in early summer.

Choose a well-lit place for planting. Any soil is suitable for it, even heavy clay and slightly moist. Swampy areas should be avoided.
