A perennial, fast-growing, thornless berry bush up to 1.5 - 2.0 m or more in height.

The leaves are dark green, large and shiny, without a pronounced currant aroma. They fall late in autumn.

The flowers are large and bright. It blooms in June.

The berries are black with a purple tint. Usually collected in a brush of 3-5 pieces. They are distinguished by a dense skin, and in size and shape they are similar to cherries. The taste is sweet and sour, with a pleasant muscat flavor. The average weight of the fruit is about 3 g.

It is used as an ornamental plant. The berries can be eaten both fresh and processed. Ripe fruits are frozen, juices, fruit drinks, compotes, jam, marmalade, jelly, and confitures are made from them.
