Herbaceous plant, a species of the genus Lavender (Lavandula) of the family of Clear-cut flowers (Lamiaceae). An evergreen shrub. The height of an adult plant is no more than 40 cm, the volume is up to 55 cm, sometimes it grows up to 70 cm.

The lower woody branches are strongly branched, rising, bearing numerous young shoots; flowering shoots are tetrahedral with a long upper internode.

The leaves are opposite, sessile, oblong-linear, with wrapped edges, 2-6 cm long, green or gray-green from pubescence.

The flowers are collected in false whorls forming spike-shaped inflorescences. Inflorescences consist of small flowers, grow in the form of spikelets, painted pink.

Lavender flowers are extremely readily visited by bees, as they secrete a lot of nectar. Therefore, the areas occupied by this crop are of great value for honey collection.

It has an average resistance to frost. It can overwinter under a large layer of snow. But in regions where frosts exceed -20 °, it is desirable to cover the plant with coniferous branches.
