A perennial herbaceous plant, a species of the genus Kupena (Polygonatum) of the Asparagus family (Asparagaceae). The plant is 30-60 cm tall. The stem is round, naked. The leaves are oblong or elliptical, slightly narrowed at the base, glabrous, with short petioles, 10-11 cm long and 4-4.5 cm wide, or the lower leaves are 14-15 cm long, green above, grayish-greenish below.

Pedicels emerge from leaf axils, with 3-5 flowers, glabrous. The perianth is narrowed above the throat, slightly expanded upwards, with six greenish teeth, which are short pubescent on the inside at the top. The staminate filaments are hairy. Blooms in May - June. The fruit is a blue-black berry. Honeydew and pollen.
