A herbaceous shrub is a perennial that can grow up to half a meter in length. The plant has numerous erect branched stems with long and narrow leaves.
The flowers of the hellebore are purple, located one by one in the axils. The root of the shrub is vertical with numerous shoots.
The maximum length of the root is 50 cm . The flowering period of the plant lasts all summer – from June to August. The fruit of the Baikal skullcap consists of four nuts.
