A perennial herbaceous plant, a species of the genus Onion (Allium) of the Onion family (Alliaceae) of the Amaryllis family (Amaryllidaceae).
The stem in the lower part is smooth, with purple leaf bases. The leaves are an elliptical plate.
The inflorescence is spherical with a rather dense multi-flowered umbrella. Blooms in late June - July. The fruit has the shape of a box with wide obovate leaves, and the seeds are spherical.
The height of the plant can be from 15 to 30 cm . In its aroma, wild cherry grass strongly gives off a garlic smell, so some nationalities often call it wild garlic.
