Spinach is an annual herbaceous plant in the Amaranth family. Forms a basal rosette of leaves. Plants are male and female. The foliage of the male smaller, female-only provide planting material. The culture is represented by several varieties, the plant is bred only generatively. Growing from Matador spinach seeds is possible by direct planting in the ground during the winter or early spring.
