A perennial root-springing herbaceous plant of the Cypress family (Onagraceae), sometimes popularly called "cypress", "Kopor tea". It has leafy bare stems 50-150 cm high .

The leaves are numerous on one shoot, alternate, whole, sessile, lanceolate, 5-12 cm long, 0.7-2 cm wide, with sharply protruding veins, dark green above, bluish-green below. The flowers are bright pink, collected in a rare long brush. Blooms from late June to mid-August.
