A species of herbaceous plants from the genus Kozloborodnik of the Asteraceae family, the type species of this genus. The plant is up to 120 cm tall . The stem is pinkish-purple.
Marginal flowers are yellow or pale yellow; their length is 30-40 mm approximately equal to or slightly less than the length of the wrapper. The anthers in the upper part have a purple color. The legs of flower baskets with fruits are almost not swollen.
Flowering time is June - July. The flowers of the meadow goat-beard open very early, before dawn, and close around noon. The fruit is an achene. Unlike many other species, achenes are almost smooth.
It grows in meadows, forest clearings, on the edges, margins of fields, near roads.
