Shepherd's bag is a fast — growing plant that can produce several generations per season. Blooms from April to late autumn. The fruits are pods of the original triangular shape: the same shape was used for shepherd's bags in Western Europe of the XVII–XVIII centuries.

It has a wide range of habitats. Prefers wet places, but can grow even in places with disturbed soil cover.

RAW MATERIAL PREPARATION
The collection is made in summer, at the time of flowering and in dry weather. The entire ground part of the grass is cut or mowed together with the basal leaves. Skip plants with open pods.
