Cedrus deodara fresh seeds, Deodar cedar, Himalayan cedar, Deodar seeds, Coniferous tree seeds, Organic seeds (lat. Cedrus deodara).
Coniferous tree, one of the species of the genus Cedar, a fast-growing breed, grows in east Asia, in the north-west of the Himalayas. Himalayan cedar is a tree reaching a height of 50 m or more, with a trunk diameter of up to 3 m. It is distinguished by a wide-cone crown, characteristic of adult plant specimens. The branches are arranged horizontally. The wood is durable and at the same time soft and fragrant, with a light yellowish sapwood and a reddish-brown dark core.
The needles are soft, thin, light gray-green with a bluish tinge, collected in bundles, 30-40 needles in each. They are 3-4-sided, up to 5 centimeters long. The needles live from three to six years.
The cone matures within 1-1.5 years. After maturation, it crumbles in the second or third year. On the branches, the cones sit on top and face up.
Himalayan cedar tolerates shading better than other types of cedar. It lives up to 1000 years, but in ideal conditions trees can reach the age of 3000 years. Such old and powerful trees are no longer found in the Himalayas.
