An evergreen coniferous tree up to 18 m high, in indoor conditions - up to 2 m. Family Podocarpaceae, species of the genus Podocarpus.
Thin, light green leaves, unevenly spaced, darken as they mature and reach a length of up to 10 cm.
Flowering is unremarkable with discreet yellow flowers. Instead of a traditional cone, the tree produces a small, fleshy pseudo-berry. The fruit contains one seed.
This is a light-loving plant and needs bright light with some direct sunlight. Prefers fresh, loose, well-drained soil, with an acidity level of 5.5-6.5 pH. You can use a mixture consisting of equal parts of leaf soil, compost, heather soil and river sand.
