Fabry fir, Yunnan fir (Latin Abies fabri).

Trees up to 40 m in height and trunk up to 100 cm. The bark is gray or dark gray in color, exfoliates. Young shoots are bare, light brown or gray-yellow, turn dark gray in 2 or 3 years.

Needles are bright green, linear 1.5-3 cm long and 2-2.5 mm wide, notched or blunt downwards, stomata with 2 white stripes on the lower surface; 2 resin channels.

The cones are slightly bluish, oval-cylindrical, 6-11 cm long and 3-4.5 cm wide. The branches are wedge-shaped-obovate, broadly rounded at the top, soon become pointed, parabolic slightly exposed, bent.

Seeds are narrowly elliptical 1.3-1.6 cm, including black-brown with a wedge-shaped wing. It is often used for growing bonsai.
