Trollius asiaticus, or Asiatic globeflower (Latin: Trollius asiaticus).

Description:
A herbaceous perennial plant, 10-80 cm tall. The root consists of numerous cord-like lobes. The stem is smooth, erect, and solitary.

The basal leaves are on long petioles, their blades pentagonal in outline, divided at the base into 5 rhombic segments, deeply incised into unevenly toothed lobes. Stem leaves number 1-5, the lower ones petiolate, the upper ones sessile, with blades similar to the basal ones but becoming smaller toward the top.

The flowers are large, up to 5 cm in diameter. The sepals are orange-red, 10-20 in number. The petals are 2-3 times longer than the stamens and equal to the sepals, orange-red. It blooms in the second half of May to June. The flower is pollinated by small beetles, flies, and bees that come for nectar.

The fruit consists of numerous leaflets, 10-11 mm long, with a short (0.5-1 mm) beak, curved inward at the base. The seeds ripen in late June to early July.

Uses:
Valued as an ornamental garden plant and also used in folk medicine.

Growing conditions:
Can grow in both sun and partial shade. Prefers moist, well-drained, and loose soil. Highly frost-resistant, no winter shelter is required. Regular watering is required, especially during the flowering period.

Growing from seeds:
You can sow globeflower seeds in late fall in a container and keep it in an unheated room, where the seeds will undergo natural stratification during the winter months and germinate in the spring.

However, it's better to place the collected seeds in a bag with damp sand, place it in the vegetable drawer of the refrigerator, and keep it there for 3-4 months at a temperature of 2-4ºC. In March, sow the seeds in the substrate and wait for germination at a temperature of 20ºC. Globeflower seeds germinate very slowly, but by mid-April or May, seedlings will likely appear. Be sure to protect the seedlings from direct sunlight and prevent the substrate from drying out.

When the second true leaf develops, the seedlings are pricked out, keeping a distance of 8-10 cm, and in August, the seedlings are planted outdoors.
