A small deciduous tree from 1 to 6 meters high. The bark is glossy cherry-red bark with pronounced lentils. The branches are thin and flexible, with narrow long (8–10 cm) leaves.

In May it blooms profusely and brightly until the leaves bloom. Snow-white flowers, collected in small inflorescences, are practically odorless.

Small red edible fruits ripen in August. The fruits are relatively small (0.4–0.8 mm). The taste is sweet and sour or sour, without astringent viscosity, not bitter.

Widely used both for single and group plantings, and for creating alleys.

Undemanding to soils. It is very photophilous; for planting you should choose a sufficiently illuminated place.
