Meadow foxtail Aureovariegatus (lat. Alopecurus pratensis Aureovariegatus)

A perennial herbaceous plant 30-40 cm high, during flowering - 90 cm.

The leaves are initially yellow, then green stripes appear on them, by autumn the leaves lengthen and begin to droop.

Flowers are brown spikelets up to 10 cm long, of regular shape. Flowering period: from June to July.

Fruits are small seeds. Ripen in October.

Use: to create natural style gardens, as a solitary plant, for inclusion in mixborders, for decorating ponds.

Prefers moist fertile soils. Loves well-lit places.
