Livistona jenkinsiana (Tsukishima palm)

Description:
A large fan palm, reaching a height of up to 25 m (in the wild) and 2-3 m (indoors).

The leaves are large, fan-shaped, dark green, and up to 60-100 cm in diameter. The petioles are often covered with spines.

Use:
For interior landscaping, conservatories, and greenhouses.

Growing Conditions:
Light: Prefers bright but indirect light.
Temperature: Optimal winter temperatures are 14-16°C.
Watering: Requires regular watering, but avoid overwatering.
Soil: Requires loose, well-drained soil.
Fertilizing: In summer, you can fertilize with a complex fertilizer.

Growing from seeds:
Sow seeds in late winter or early spring. Before sowing, soak the seeds in warm water for up to 2 days, changing the water daily.

Place the seeds 1-1.5 cm deep in a mixture of peat and perlite (equal parts), moisten, cover with plastic wrap, and store in a warm (25-28°C) location with filtered light. Ventilate the seeds daily and monitor the soil moisture.

Sprouting usually occurs within 4-12 weeks. After the first true leaf unfurls, transplant the young plants into individual pots approximately 9-12 cm in diameter.
