A species of shrubs or small trees of the genus Klekachka (Staphylea) of the family Klekachkovye (Staphyleaceae). A shrub or small tree with bare green annual shoots and yellow-brown branches, up to 5 m high.

The leaves are long-stemmed, from 5-7 leaflets; the leaflets are oblong-ovate or elliptical, finely mottled along the edge, dark green above, lighter below, the base is rounded-wedge-shaped, long-pointed, young lateral leaflets are sessile, the apical leaflet on the petiole.

The inflorescence is an oblong or ovate brush. The sepals are ovate, slightly pinkish on the outside, the petals are white, the same length as the sepals, but narrower, the stamens with glabrous or rarely with hairy filaments.

The fruit is a broadly obovate, one- or two-seeded capsule. The seeds are shiny, brown. Blooms in May. The fruits ripen in July-September. The seeds contain a fatty oil that tastes like pistachio oil.

It is used as an ornamental plant, it is often bred in gardens, parks, forest belts. A valuable honey plant.
