Deciduous tree 7-15 m high. Spreading crown.

The leaves are bipinnate, 10–30 cm long, green in color.

The flowers are greenish-yellow with long thread-like stamens.

The fruit is a multi-seeded bean.

Honey plant. Grown in single plantings in gardens and parks.

Not picky about soil; prefers light, loose, slightly acidic or slightly alkaline soils with good drainage. Photophilous, prefers a place in the open sun and protected from cold winds.
