The flowers are pink or white and fragrant, gathered in panicles. They bloom for only one day.

The fruits are prickly red-brown capsules resembling seed pods.

Uses:

Growing conditions:
Requires warm, bright conditions and well-drained, humus-rich soil.

USDA Hardiness Zone:
10 (-1°C to +4°C).

Growing from seeds:
Before sowing, soak the seeds in warm water for 6-12 hours.

Light substrate: coco peat or a mixture of it with perlite and fine vermiculite, pre-watered with a warm solution of phytosanitary preparation.

Sow the seeds to a depth of 0.5-1 cm, cover the container with plastic wrap, and place in a bright location at a temperature of 22-25°C. Ventilate the container daily. Seedlings appear in 2 to 6 weeks. After 2-3 true leaves have formed, transplant the seedlings into individual containers with nutritious soil.

Lighting: Prefers bright but indirect light. East or west-facing windows are ideal. Supplemental lighting may be required in winter.

Watering: Water generously, but avoid waterlogging.
