Spathodea campanulata, African tulip tree.

An evergreen tree up to 20 m high. The bark is gray-brown, covered with light gray spots. At home it is grown in pots and containers.

The leaves are shiny, dark green, up to 50 cm long.

The flowers are large, up to 12 cm long, bright scarlet or red-orange in color, shaped like a tulip. Collected in brushes.

The fruit is a dry oblong capsule up to 20 cm long and up to 6 cm wide with numerous winged seeds distributed by the wind.

It is not picky about soil and can grow on any soil, even the poorest.
