A small shrub up to 1 m high. The stem is branched.
Leaves with small, subulate-pointed stipules, alternate, pinnate, with 4-5 pairs of leaflets and a glandular petiole.
The inflorescences are axillary racemes, 7-8 cm long. The corolla consists of 5 short-legged, unequal, yellow petals.
The fruit is a bean, 3-5 cm long and 1.5-2.5 cm wide, flat, leathery.
It blooms from late June to autumn, the seeds ripen in September. The flowering and fruiting period is extended and ends with the onset of low temperatures. Intensive growth and development of plants is observed at temperatures of +25-+30C, lowering the temperature to +10C stops their growth and development, and with frosts of -0.3 - -0.5C the plants die.
