Rinse the peanuts thoroughly and put them in a large jar. Then soak the peanuts in cool water and leave them for 12 hours away from direct sunlight at 21ºC. After soaking, the seeds should be rinsed and dried. Repeat the soaking procedure after 12 hours. The seeds will start to germinate after three washing and drying cycles. Only when the tops of the seeds are bulging can the peanuts be planted in the ground.
The growing area should be well lit, free of shade and well ventilated. The soil should be light, black or neutral and have a high potassium, magnesium and humus content. Peanuts cannot tolerate soil salinity.
Peanuts are planted in warm soil. Seeds germinate at 12-14 degrees, the ideal temperature being 25-30 degrees.
Be sure to wait for the weather to get warmer, since peanuts cannot tolerate frosts. Peanuts are usually planted in mid-May, after the gourds have been sown.
The best predecessors for peanuts on the plot are cabbage, cucumbers, potatoes.
In spring, prepare the soil before planting - apply 50 g of nitrophoska per 1 m2. If you prepare the soil in autumn, you can apply humus under tillage at a depth of 25-30 cm at the rate of 1-3 kg per m2.
