Seeds that have passed stratification, we send wet in perlite, and if you received dry seeds (without perlite), which means that they have not passed stratification and you, if it is required for seeds, need to stratify!
Butia is propagated exclusively by seed.
Even a novice grower can grow a palm at home. To do this, the following steps are required:
Free the seed from the pulp. This helps prevent rotting and fungal diseases. Afterwards, rinse the seed with warm water and dry it.
Soak the seeds for 48 hours in a solution of growth stimulator. During soaking, the seed's shell will swell and peel off.
To speed up germination, the seed is scarified on one side, i.e. the hard shell is broken.
Seeds can be germinated in a plastic bag. The bag is filled with coconut fibre or moistened peat, closed tightly and placed near a heat source.
