Preparation: Soak the seeds in water for 24 hours before sowing. To speed up germination, it is recommended to scarify the seeds: immerse them in very hot water or carefully saw the seed, thinning the hard shell.
Soil for sowing: palm substrate and vermiculite in a 1:1 ratio. You can use soil for adeniums.
Sowing: Plant the date seed vertically to a depth of 1-2 cm, moisten it with a spray bottle, cover with film, place in a warm place, but not in direct sunlight. The best temperature for germination is +23-+27C. From time to time it is necessary to ventilate the crops by removing the film for a couple of hours. As soon as you see the first shoots, 2-3 leaves, you need to remove the film completely. It is necessary to avoid waterlogging and drying out of crops.
Sprouts may appear after 2 months. Under less favorable conditions, germination may take 6 months or more.
When they reach a height of 10 cm, transplant the seedlings into a container with drainage holes. The soil should consist of sand, turf soil, peat, humus and charcoal.
Care: regular watering, fertilizing.
