Description: Mid-season variety. Maturity period: 90 days. Plant height: 150-200 cm. Leaves are large, wide, and dark green. Cobs are cone-shaped. Each cob weighs 200-300 g. The kernels are round, smooth, white or cream-colored. The flavor is medium sweet.
Uses: For creating hedges; in cooking, for boiling, canning, making soups, and side dishes.
Growing instructions from seed: Before planting, sprout the seeds for 5-7 days in a damp cloth or filter paper at room temperature. Fill the pots with a mixture of well-structured sod soil mixed with equal parts well-rotted manure. Place 3-4 corn kernels per pot. Plant the seeds 3-4 cm deep, then moisten the soil with a warm solution of 4 g of Fundazol per 10 liters of water. Transfer the seedlings to a sunny windowsill with an east or southeast exposure. Corn seedlings develop very slowly. During the growing season, feed the seedlings once or twice with Polyfid, Terraflex, Master, or Kemira-Hydro. When 3-4 leaves appear, leave one strong seedling per cell and two per pot, and trim weaker plants with scissors just above the soil surface. A week before planting, harden off the seedlings with daily sessions of shade outdoors, gradually increasing the duration of this treatment until they acclimate to the new growing conditions. Corn is not pricked out because it transplants poorly. It is planted outdoors when frosts can no longer damage it—in early to mid-June.
